Specialist Mental Health Services

Specialist Mental Health Support under the NDIS provides recovery-focused, participant-centred care through a combination of specialised support work and nursing services delivered by qualified mental health clinicians and experienced support staff. Supports are tailored to each participant’s psychosocial disability, individual goals, and functional needs to enhance independence, emotional well-being, community participation, and overall quality of life.

Services include:

  • The development and implementation of individualised care plans

  • Ongoing mental state monitoring

  • Risk assessment and management

  • Behavioural and emotional support strategies

  • Coordination with the participant’s wider support network

 

Clinicians and support workers collaborate closely with families, guardians, allied health professionals, behaviour support practitioners, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic and consistent care aligned with participant goals and best practice standards.

Supports include:

  • Assistance with daily living activities

  • Emotional regulation

  • Social and community engagement

  • Medication prompting and monitoring

  • Skill development

  • Capacity building

  • Crisis prevention strategies

 

Through a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, Specialist Mental Health Support aims to empower participants to build resilience, increase functional capacity, maintain stability within the community, and achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes under their NDIS plan.
